October 14, 2020
Sisters, brothers,
This update is to inform you on the process and timeline for the vote on the employer’s final offer. It is imperative that you cast your ballot.
Final offer package, which contains the full offer and instructions on how to vote online or by telephone, will be mailed by Intelivote, the voting company, from Ottawa on October 16.
Voting will be open from 4 pm ET on Thursday, October 22 and will close on Monday, November 2 at 10:30 am ET. The results of the vote will be counted and announced soon after.
It is vital that you vote. If you have any problems voting, or if you do not receive the package by October 22, please call the voting company at 1 888 281 8683 and notify your local union representative.
This final offer was negotiated after taking our strike vote. Please make every effort to get educated, read the entire offer document, and participate in the most important aspect of your working career.
If the final offer is rejected, Teamsters Canada will endeavor to negotiate further with UPS prior to taking any strike action, which may be initiated at any time by serving 72 hours advance notice to the company.
Please watch for further updates from Teamsters Canada and your local union. As always, if you any questions or concerns, please contact your local union. Most importantly, vote.
In solidarity,
Richard Eichel, Director, Parcel Division, Teamsters Canada
François Laporte, President, Teamsters Canada
