{"id":77,"date":"2007-06-22T13:31:00","date_gmt":"2007-06-22T13:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/teamsters931.org\/?p=77"},"modified":"2020-06-10T13:41:10","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T13:41:10","slug":"purolators-restructuring-of-its-activities-will-not-have-a-negative-impact-on-the-teamsters-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/teamsters931.ca\/en\/2007\/06\/22\/purolators-restructuring-of-its-activities-will-not-have-a-negative-impact-on-the-teamsters-members\/","title":{"rendered":"Purolator\u2019s restructuring of its activities will not have a negative impact on the Teamsters\u2019 members"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Montreal \u2013 The employees at the Boucherville and Montreal (St. Laurent) hubs will be transferred to the new mega hub located in Dorval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere will be no job losses,\u201d said Michel Aubin, union representative of Teamsters Local Union 931 which represents Purolator employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The employees based at the Quebec City hub will be affected by this restructuring however no job losses are expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEmployees in Quebec City who may be affected by an eventual decrease of the volume of packages sorting will be eventually transferred to the new Dorval mega centre,\u201d explains the union representative. \u201cIn fact, we are currently negotiating with the employer to make sure that none of our members suffer negative consequences subsequent to the restructuring. On the contrary, we expect to hire new employees as early as this Fall to meet increasing needs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Purolator employees affiliated to the Teamsters Union work in various trades as mechanics, drivers and sorters among others.
